I seem to have turned a corner in the health corridor. This week I've noticed a marked difference in the amount of energy I have and what I can get done. Amazing! I actually baked from scratch this week and tried a new recipe. It makes me wonder what life is going to be like when I'm totally healthy. I can't remember that far back, but I'm pretty sure it's in the future again.
My new knee brace arrived last week. I'm still unsure about it. On the one hand, it does what it's supposed to do---keep my knee bones from rubbing together. Another item in the plus column is that it doesn't encase my leg in a layer of fabric, so I'm pretty sure it will be cooler to wear in the summer. On the other hand, it has 5 sets of straps that wind around my leg to keep it in place. If I make them functional and comfortable while I'm sitting, they lose the comfort when I stand . . . and vice versa. So far I haven't had a day without one of the straps making me crazy while walking, standing, or sitting. Ugh. It has only been a week, but it's going to take a lot of adjusting. Also on the negative hand is that it is not very low profile. It looks like I have Frankenstein knee if my pants aren't billowy. And if they are, they catch on one of the metal bars. I'm sure nobody is paying as much attention to it as I am, but it still bugs me.
I spent almost a solid week sending out my latest update/prayer letter. Every time I thought I was done, I either found a new stack or an address I missed. I'm glad I don't have to do THAT again soon. Now, I just have to wait for response cards to come in and then respond to the responses. I'm trying to take the letter electronic. Has anyone ever used mailchimp? Just curious to know what you think of it.
My parents arrive Sunday night for a month long visit! I'm very much looking forward to getting to hang out with them. I still have to come up with something fun for us to do while they're here. I hate feeling like they came all this way to do whatever at my house while I'm at the office most of the time. However, I still haven't figured out how to be in both places at once.
Happy Easter, everyone! May you know the power and joy of the resurrection.
